Ukulele Side Bending Form

Another don't buy what you can make project - this one for the ukulele build. I didn't want to go out and buy side-bending forms so I decided to build my own. This is the first of two that are planned so I can clamp up both sides at once.

I started by using the front/back template for the uke to trace out one side of the template onto 1/2 inch MDF. I then rough-cut three sides, and then routed them to final dimensions.

I glued these up with 1/4 inch spacers, and drilled holes for the hardware.

The hardware went in the holes

Then contured blocks for clamping the sides to the form.
